No tracking, no cookies

This website deliberately uses no analytics or tracking tools, and sets no cookies for analytics or marketing purposes. No cookie consent banner is required.

Locally stored preferences

Your choice of colour scheme (light/dark) and high-contrast mode is remembered using your browser's local storage (localStorage). This information stays on your device only and is never transmitted to me or anyone else. As a strictly necessary function you actively trigger yourself, no separate consent is required (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

Hosting & server logs

This website is hosted with a provider based in Germany, under a data processing agreement per Art. 28 GDPR. Standard technical access logs (IP address, date/time, requested page, browser type) are recorded automatically for security and stability, and are deleted or anonymised after a short period (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Fonts

Web fonts on this site are hosted locally on our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font provider.

Directions map (OpenStreetMap)

The contact page embeds an interactive map. The map library (Leaflet) is hosted locally on our own server; no connection to an external provider is made for the library itself. The map is not displayed automatically: when you open the contact page, only a placeholder is shown and no connection to OpenStreetMap is made. Only when you click “Load map” are the map tiles loaded directly from the tile servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom), which transmits your IP address to OpenStreetMap. The legal basis is your consent given by this click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom. Your consent only applies to the current page view and is not stored; on your next visit the placeholder is shown again. No cookies are set. Getting in touch

If you contact me via the contact form, callback form, email, phone, WhatsApp or Threema, the details you provide are stored to handle your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR) and deleted once no longer required. Form submissions are relayed to me by email via a server-side script; no data is shared with third parties. WhatsApp contact is additionally subject to the privacy terms of Meta Platforms. Threema contact is additionally subject to the privacy terms of Threema GmbH, based in Switzerland; an EU adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR) covers data transfers there.

To protect against automated abuse (e.g. mass submissions by bots), each form submission briefly counts how often a form was submitted from the same IP address. Your IP address is stored for this purpose in pseudonymised form (a hash value) together with timestamps, in a file on the server that is automatically disregarded again after a short time. This is based on my legitimate interest in a working, abuse-free contact channel (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, restrict or erase your personal data, to data portability, and to object to processing (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with your competent data protection authority. For any of this, please contact me at the address above.
